These 12 Photos were taken by Robert Pirsig’s very own camera, as he Chris, Sylvia and John made that 1968 epic voyage upon which Mr Pirsig’s <em>Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance</em> (ZMM) book was based. Taken in 1968 along what is now known as <em> The ZMM Book Travel Route</em> each photo scene is actually <em>Written-Into</em> Mr. Pirsig’s book => <em>Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (ZMM) </em>

Each of the 832 photographs in these Four Albums show a scene described in the book <em>Zen and Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. </em> Each photo was especially researched and photographed along the ZMM Route to show a specific ZMM Book Travel Description Passage: This passage is shown in quote marks below the respective photo. As you look at each of these photos, you will be viewing scenes similar to those that author Pirsig, Chris, and the Sutherlands might have seen, on that epic voyage, upon which the book <em>Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance</em> was based. Thus it is, that these 832 photographs are <em>A Color Photo Illustrated Zen and Art of Motorcycle Maintenance</em>. Indeed <em>A Photo Show Book</em> for ZMM. Sights & Scenes Plus Full Explanation

Despite John's quite negative disparaging statements in ZMM, about their home back in Minneapolis, this same house, shown in these photos, looks to us like a wonderful beautiful home along a very nice, quiet, shady street, in a perfectly fine Minneapolis Neighborhood!

How To “SaveAs A Copy Of All Your Facebook Posts Page”, Including Respective Photo, And Nearly All Of The Surrounding Normal Text Content.

…Presented below are the special methods, procedures, & software that I found, which resulted in a fairly satisfactory “Capture” and “SaveAs” of my rather huge FB Page.

…Although almost any Internet Browser (FireFox, Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc). has a good ability to “SaveAs” a whole displayed WebPage, Facebook.com Pages are an especially tough challenge, at least for the over 1000 Facebook Posts of my => https://www.facebook.com/zmmquality/

…I started knowing nothing about this “tough challenge”, and initially used Chrome Internet Brower. Normally, For Chrome (and most browsers) > Start the Save Page Complete > By > Do > CTRL S. I tried this method (to get a “SaveAs”), and it immediately failed. …This also happened for Microsoft Edge Browser:
…I was o/c puzzled by this failure, and it took a VERY long time for me to discover that these failures were due to

a) My ClickOn all of the => “See More Comments” and
b) My ClickOn all of the => “Reply” ….

From this above, I decided to omit these from my final “SaveAs”
NOTE: Also below, see discussion at Step => P) BIG CAUTION:

…Given these problems, I googled for … Download & Save Facebook Page …., and found many WebPages with suggested steps, but these also all failed.

…So I had to proceed on my own, and gradually found successful, the steps and equipment given below. These are the steps that “happen to work”, as I ever so slowly struggled my way forward:
…Outlined below are the successful steps & methods I found that were successful. However, these or may not be best methods & steps for other persons trying similar.

… My work, from start, to my eventual success, took about a week working essentially full time. This was already way too long, so I have NOT tried to see if different better methods or equipment might be more successful or easier.

…It would be great to hear of your own experiences of what you have done on this. Please send email with discussion of your own work and ideas, to HenryG__USCA.edu

My Set Up:

A) On my fairly fast Dell OptiPlex Computer, with ~16 GB of RAM,
B) Shut down A) above, then newly booted Windows 10.
C) Newly launch Microsoft Edge Browser, with only one Tab, which showed my https://www.facebook.com/zmmquality/
D) Plus launched only => “WordPad”, to hold several lines of text & one “File Explorer”, to check validity of newly created “SaveAs’s” .
F) Ensure there is a => Good high-speed internet connection, through WiFi.
G) Using Edge Browser, do search for … Edge Extension SingleFile …. Then clickon (Upper Right) => “Get”. Click Here To See What I Found For => SingleFile - Microsoft Edge Addons SingleFile … Although I have no direct evidence, I firmly believe based on having completed ~9 Facebook Very Large “SaveAs’s” that => It is VERY important to use BOTH Edge Internet Browser, and this Extension “SingleFile”, as described below how I used this.

… Please email HenryG__USCA.edu, if you have more experience with this issue.

H) My Windows 10 and Edge Brower versions, were most recent & up-to-date, as of this writing, June 10, 2022 and 9 July, 2023.

The Steps I Found That Worked:

I) Be sure internet connection is working full speed.
J) Load into Edge Browser => https://www.facebook.com/zmmquality/
K) Lower Right, place mouse cursor on the [small box with down arrow], and then continuously hold down the mouse left button, and watch Facebook’s “Facebook Posts” gradually fill in, onto your Edge Browser.
L) After loading the desired number of daily Facebook Posts (about 400) onto your Edge Browser, release mouse to stop the “gradually fill in”, and
M) Immediately turn OFF WiFi. << This is a MUST, since any attempts by your browser to “fill-in” more posts will lead to a “SaveAs” which has only ~6 posts in it.
N) Since I wanted ALL of each & every Facebook Post, I needed to ClickOn each and every => “See More” ''

…Eventually, by accident, I discovered, AHA!!, the fastest way to find each “See More” > Is > Do >:Edit >Find > … S (<< three dots, space & letter S).This is what you must use on a Facebook Page, to be able to find each one, so you can ClickOn each of ‘em. CAUTION: On very large Facebook Pages, this will stop, and NOT find all of e’m. So several times Restart the > Edit > Find. THEN on your “SavedAs” version repeat the search to see if any are still there.

O) CAUTIONS:
1) Before you ClclkOn any > “See More” ‘> Be sure that it (upon mouse hover), goes to underlined, meaning Edge Browser is ready for this action. Otherwise you may get a general failure, or NOT do what you wanted.
2) As you work, take extreme care NOT to click on any link or photo or etc, because any mis-take, will shift your Edge Browser to another page, and you will LOOSE all your work!!
P) BIG CAUTION: You will find that a) If you ClickOn any “See More Comments” or “Reply” , then Your “SaveAs” page will only have 4 to 6 posts in it. These may be at the top or the very bottom.
Q) When you are sure your page is fully ready for “SaveAs”, then Mouse ClickDrag Slider at right, so the Facebook Posts, go as high as they will go, so you are looking a the TOP Facebook Post.
R) Now be sure all is ready => CPU at slow speed, computer fan low speed, internet connection is working full speed, good steady electrical power with no threat of loss.
S) Write down Clock Time and ClickOn > At top right > “Extensions: > “SingleFile” ClickOn This > Screen Will darken and you will see in Lower Left A Box with “Frame Contents” + Check Mark and “Deferred Images” + Check Mark, and Step 1/3. .
T) Sit quietly, wait & watch for any signs of trouble, and touch nothing. And then after 5 to 8 minutes => You may see near top, a Narrow Bar Spread from left to right. And about this time => The above-mentioned “Lower Left A Box” disappear > And at Upper Right will say “Downloads” …. :What do you want to do with …. “

… Best is click on “Save as” and change the file name to descriptive of you File, such as the example given below at Z2).

U) You may get a PopUp saying “not responding” . You should ClickOn the “Wait” . However this may be a harbinger of failure soon.
V) My successful “SaveAs” had wait & watch times of 5 minutes, for my Facebook of about 300 Daily Posts, each of which had a photo and lots of text.
W) My longest wait time was 16 minutes, at which point there was a PopUp saying “~Failure! Click To Reload Page” . This means a) There is NO “SaveAs” and b) All my work above steps K) thru Q), was totally LOST, and I had to start over. :-((
X) Unfortunately, W) above may happen at any time, and you will have lost all your work, and you will not know the cause. In this event => Relax, take a food break, get a long walk, and start over.
Y) If after 5 to 11 minutes, all has been successful, you will see as described in above T) ….

…AFTER A successful “SaveAs”, you should go find it in your computer’s “File Explorer”, > Do > “Open File” '', and your result will instantly appear as a second tab in your Edge Browser. Go slowly, as you scroll to view results: This is because these results may be huge, and the Edge Browser, will have trouble keeping up with your scroll.

Z) Also => You may go to your computer’s “File Explorer”, to see this saved version in listing for “Today”: Here you may change the file name, if you want to.
Z1) In my case, the as-found file name was way too long, and did not give any details, as to the computer used or the specific methods used, to create the “SaveAs”.
Z2) For example I changed the file name to => FbZMMQ}OptiplexWin10EdgeWiFiOff}RmvAllSeMoRy191009!8mnDnLd.html
Z3) This Z2) above file name, abbreviated says => The Name of TheFaceBookPage, The Computer Manufacture Name, Windows10, EdgeBrowser, WiFiOff, RemovedAll’SeeMore’, Gradual ‘Fill-In-To’ EarliestFacebookPost2019-10thMonth-9thDay, Coded as html

Eventually We Will Make Available My “SaveAs” Copy of => https://www.facebook.com/zmmquality/ , which you can then find by Googling =>…
Facebook ZMMquality By David Matos: Page Saved As HTML….

If You Have Questions Or Need More Information, please email HenryG__USCA.edu
…Also want to hear of your own experiences with saving Facebook Pages, especially if easier than steps & method I describe above.
