A Close-Up Fiew of a Typical Medium Size Sisal Plant That Happens To Be Along the Road To Our House.
I’m in Aiken SC now, Driving to our house, I see this Sisal Plant, remembering the my “Poor Little Fella” sisal plant photo (pix 31/75), I stop to photograph this rather normal specimen, shown in this and the next two photos.
Sisal is a member of the Agave Family, and similar to the Yucca Plant, and growing wild, is fairly common in our part of SC.

A REALLY Close-Up Fiew of a Typical Medium Size Sisal Plant That Happens To Be Along the Road To Our House. NOTE Currly Fibers, that Naturally Peel Off the leaves of the Sisal Plant.
Sisal is a member of the Agave Family, and similar to the Yucca Plant, and growing wild, is fairly common in our part of SC.
The fibers of the Sisal are valuable for making rope, twine, and fabrics. It is believed that the North Americans used Sisal for it's fibers, really not having any other source of durable fibers
