Make sure to click the photo to get largest view! Beside her picture we see her name: Sarah Jennings and hometown: Dallas Center, Iowa. Also listed is her area of study English—Latin. The text goes on to share the various organizations and activities Sarah took part in. The YWCA being the Young Women’s Christian Origination (similar to the YMCA, being the young men’s version). The text also indicates that she was a member of the Calcogathian Society of Grinnell College, indicated by a google search, to be a society striving for harmony of the mind, body, and spirit. (Googling the word Calcogathia or Kalkogathia yields interesting insight. Some definitions include the word “quality”!) Sarah was also, apparently involved at some time in class basketball and hockey.
