~8:00pm May 17 Sunset At I-80 Rest Area, Half Way From Grinnell College To Des Moines's Walnut Creek State Park Campground, ~10 Miles South of Des Moines IA. When Henry Gurr stopped at this I-80 Rest Area, he saw Super Long Transport Rigs that were moving Components of a HUGE New Electrical Power Windmill!! Henry never had been so close, and was quite impressed by these “REAL “DON QUIXOTE” GIANTS! On automatic Henry’s Nicon D50 came out, and snap-snap-snap. … Then after food & rest, and seeing this above Sunset Scene, Henry remembered his standard (ZMM Route Research Trip Photo Practice & Habit), took one more snap-it! SUMMARY Of Henry Gurr's Research At the Grinnell College Library & Archives, for two days. ... My email at the time said: “All goes well, and finding lots of good new info: Nothing tremendous, but worth doing it.” High points were: Found (and Photographed) where she lived there, and a small photo of her in the Yearbook. And surprisingly, considerable and important information about Dr M S Slaughter, Sarah’s U. Wisconsin Graduate School, Major Professor, who happened in his early teaching career, to be also at Grinnell in his early teaching career.: I found a whole lot more about him, including his PhD Thesis, and some very good photos. 16 May late afternoon & evening: Archive closed at 5 pm, so I continued my Sarah Vinke Biography Field Research, upstairs, in the Library of Grinnell College., Evening find campground reco’d by Archives Dr Christopher Jones, ~ in a very nice Iowa State Park, ~10 mile NW of Grinnell Campus. 17 May, continue in Archives, and pretty much a repeat of previous day. Since there was plenty of day left, I drove I-80 West toward Des Moines IA.
