An Obituary & Remembrances Of Jacob Jennings, Sarah’s Father (1851 – 1927, age 76)..
This Newspaper Article ( /\ Above /\ Photo), emphasizes the High Character & Staunch Religious Life of Jacob Jennings: And tells that Mr Jennings, at age 12, traveled in a wagon from Pennsylvania, to Dallas Center, and how he could tell many a story about the early pioneer days in Iowa. =>
….The facts that when he arrived in Iowa, there were practically no towns in the area, nor any Rail Roads, so lumber for their house & barns, had to be hauled by wagon all the way from Iowa City: This is 140 miles, practically all the way from Davenport, on the Mississippi.

~9:00pm Friday June 28 2019 The Trace of “The Raccoon .River Valley Trail” (RRVT), Was For ~100 Years The Minneapolis & St Louis Rail Road Track Bed:
….But NOW A Very Nice Parkway For Hikers’ & Bicyclist’s, Passing Through The Very Center of Dallas Center IA.
…A) This Panorama Opens with a View Looking West, On Walnut St: This is in Center of Business District of Dallas Center IA>
…B) And as you scroll to the right you will see the ~Formal Gateway’s For the RRVT; (There is one of these Formal Gateways, for RRVT passing through each town’s Center.)
…C) And as you continue scrolling, you will see a View Looking East on Walnut St.
As Discussed in The Previous Photo Google Earth Satellite View, this most pleasant “Raccoon .River Valley Trail” , Originates in area of Des Moines IA, passes through “Waukee (IA)””, and following Trace of the old railway line NW, passed straight through “Dallas Center (IA)”!
….However, contrary to what RRVT might suggest, this “Raccoon River Trail”, never gets very near to the river. .
….So … After ~100 years as a Rail Road Bed, this trace is NOW A Very Nice Parkway For Hikers’ & Bicyclist’s! .
