Although Chris And The Narrator Arrive After Dark, This May 2017 Photo (Found On The Side Panel Of A Google Map/Satellite View) =>
….Shows A Daylight View Of What “A Small Stream Nearby,” Might Have Looked Like.
…However, There Would Have Been Far Less Water Flow, For Chris And The Narrator In Their July Summer Heat Than This Photo, Which For May 2017 Late Spring, Shows A Large Flow.
….[“ "BROWNLEE CAMPGROUND," which appears to be in a draw of the mountains. In the dark it’s hard to tell what sort of country we’re in. We follow a dirt road under trees and past underbrush to some camper’s pull-ins. No one else seems to be here. When I shut the motor off and we unpack I can hear a small stream nearby. Except for that and the chirping of some little bird there’s no sound.” “
…."I like it here," Chris says.
…"It’s very quiet," I say.
…"Where will we be going tomorrow?"
…"Into Oregon." I give him the flashlight and have him shine it where I’m unpacking.
…"Have I been there before?"
…"Maybe, I’m not sure."
…I spread out the sleeping bags, and put his on top of the picnic table. The novelty of this appeals to him. This night there’ll be no trouble sleeping. Soon I hear deep breathing that tells me he’s already asleep.“ ]
Brownlee Campground, ~18 miles Northwest of Cambridge, ID. As you will see in the EIGHTHTH and following Photos, this area of Idaho, is a treeless extremely baked dry region, so it is a total surprise that => Here. there is a running stream here, and so many large trees, in a dense forest!
… The ZMM Narrator is extremely accurate in his descriptions here => I saw everything in the above ZMM Passage, such as =>: The Brownlee Campground sign, the draw, the country road under trees & underbrush, to the picnic tables, and draw with small stream, and you can hear it! .
….(Better photos needed.)
..****************..,
FATHER & SON RELATIONSHIP: “The Chirping Of Some Little Bird … There’s No Sound.”
…. … Metaphorically this is to be understood as => Chris is trying to communicate ,,.. but there is practically no communication from the Father.
...In the above ZMM Passage, we see how again and again Chris tries to “reach out” to his Dad by asking a series of questions. AND we see how at best, the Narrator’s answers to Chris are Vague Non-Answers.
…. In Previous Photos, we have discussed, how repeatedly the Narrator does not do what Chris wants. For example, in a previous photo at Colgate Lick Rest Area, Lochsha River Canyon ID, the Narrator does not go with Chris to look at the Mineral Salt Lick. They might have both together shared in discovering the old mineral springs, and salt lick mentioned, and all kinds of interesting animal tracks around it.
…Now add to this, in the above ZMM Passage, we see the Narrator’s failure to really constructively respond to Chris saying => ”I Like It Here.” , followed by a series of questions about being at this campground and plans for the next day.
Thus, At Best, The Narrator’s Answers To Chris Are Vague Non-Answers! .
…. At this point we should suddenly realize **AHA**, the significance of the Narrator’s => The Chirping Of Some Little Bird … Again, as mentioned previously => This is Author Robert Pirsig’s way of telling us Metaphorically The Narrator’s communication with Chris, is failing => ….Continued: Next Photo.
