Along Keyes Creek And The Ochoco Highway, 3 Miles East of Mitchell, OR.
In the /\ Above /\ Photo => The Small Mountain at the distant horizon just right of center is located practically due West, a small distance beyond Mitchell, OR.
Repeating Second Previous Photo => After turning West from Rt-19 Junction, at John Day River, US-26 climbs steadily up along a tree-lined stream into dry hills at Keyes Creek Summit Pass (4,369 ft). Then, following along Keyes Cree,k the road trends downwards, heading West, on the way to Mitchell, OR. .
….And although the ZMM Narrator omits mention of some 32 miles of travel from Dayville, OR to the next town of Mitchell, OR, I have added the /\ Above /\ Photo to show the scenery along the way..
