Saturday, July 20, 2024 ….A Photo Of Lochsa Lodge Found Their Photo Display Wall Inside The Newer Rebuilt Lochsa Lodge.

Lochsa Lodge, US-12, Lochsa River Canyon, ID.

Interesting Passage Found On Instagram.
…Lochsa Lodge was originally built as a hunting retreat by Andrew Erickson. This Swedish immigrant was known as, “an old-time Swede… [a] real fine old fella, hard-nosed, opinionated, but priceless.”

His “big heart” gained the local landmark status for the lodge. Known for its untamed wilderness, the area drew hunters and sportsmen who traveled from all over.

Around the same time, the Lochsa Historical Ranger station was built, used as a forest service hub for backcountry operations in the area.

Today we are located close to Powell Ranger Station. Today it all looks a little different. Today our crew is lucky to call it home. There is so much history along this river. Take a drive and discover the story nature tells.”
