,,,,POWELL, IDAHO - The historic Lochsa Lodge burned to the ground Wednesday despite efforts to save the rustic log structure by lodge employees, guests and personnel from the nearby U.S. Forest Service and state highway department stations.
,,,,The lodge, about 11 miles on the Idaho side of Lolo Pass along U.S. Highway 12, was built in 1928 by Swedish immigrant Andrew Erickson as a hunting and trapping retreat, according to owner Susie Denton.
