After The Very Last Tiny Bit Of Red Has Faded From the Sky,
… In The Total Dark, The Narrator Ponders What to Do With Chris:
…..But There Is No Illumination!
….“I wish I knew what to say to him. Or what to ask. He seems so close at times, and yet the closeness has nothing to do with what is asked or said. Then at other times he seems very far away and sort of watching me from some vantage point I don’t see. And then sometimes he’s just childish and there’s no relation at all.
.... Sometimes, when thinking about this, I thought that the idea that one person’s mind is accessible to another’s is just a conversational illusion, just a figure of speech, an assumption that makes some kind of exchange between basically alien creatures seem plausible, and that really the relationship of one person to another is ultimately unknowable. The effort of fathoming what is in another’s mind creates a distortion of what is seen. I’m trying, I suppose, for some situation in which whatever it is emerges undistorted. The way he asks all those questions, I don’t know.” (End Chapter 25.)

FATHER & SON RELATIONSHIP:
The Chirping Of Some Little Bird … There’s No Sound.…
…. In the previous photo’s ZMM Passage => We see, how at best, the Narrator’s answers to Chris are vague non-answers.
….We also see above that => the Narrator realizes Chris is trying to get communication & improved relationship. AND The Narrator KNOWS he is not adequately responding, but offers his own reasons for his failure => He just doesn’t know how to answer Chris.
… But there’s a serious disparity here => The Narrator can talk endlessly and deeply about Reality, & Quality, & Gumption Traps, but he can’t figure out how to relate to his own son!
…Moreover, in the passage above, when the Narrator does try to think about communicating with Chris, he comes up with Philosophical Conundrums, which completely cloud any constructive answers.
….This lack of any way to adequately answer, is solidly punctuated, by here abruptly ending Chapter 25!
PART II: GIVING ATTENTION TO “MASTER MOTIFS” IN ZMM =>
….Partly REPEATING PART I => A Continuation Of Motif Ideas From The Previous ZMM Part 2 Photo Captions, Since These Ideas Apply To The Above =>” Chirping Of Some Little Bird … There’s No Sound” …
..****************..
….In the above passage, The ZMM Narrator says, “I can hear a small stream nearby. Except for that and the chirping of some little bird there’s no sound.“
…A) Here again, the perceptive ZMM Reader should REMEMBER The Previous Album Photo Caption (Blue Link Above, At DeWeese Home) => And pop to attention at “ the chirping of some little bird there’s no sound. ..“
AND
…B) And Here again, apply this REMEMBER when reading the Narrator’s => Seeming Useless, Out of Place, Seeming Pointless Phrase such as => “ chirping of some little bird … there’s no sound.“
MUST KEEP IN MIND => In ZMM, There Are NO Useless, Wasted Words! …
… In This Case (& Others Similar), The Reader Should. “Pause And Think Beyond The “Ordinary!” … AND Then Realize This Passage, Is Like Other ZMM Book Phrases such as => “In The Distance A Single Bird Cries Plaintively.”
In Other Words => OK! YES!! This Fits The Master Motif Situation!!!
…..At such occurrences, we should immediately think of “MASTER MOTIF IDEAS”, as discussed in “The Guidebook To ZMM”!
NOW. From The Above Discussion, Our Wondering Is ANSWERED In The NEXT Photo =>
