Sarah Was Here: This Album Shows Photos of Residences Where Sarah Vinke Lived. Photos Are From Henry Gurr's Field Research, Internet Searches, and Google Street Views.

The Clark Apartments, 616 S Grand Ave, Bozeman MT.
We have tried to confirm Sarah’s and Louis’ living locations, by formal search requests to the Gallatin County Clerk & Recorder: “No records were found”. Similarly, in hopes that various Law Court Documents would show addresses, a similar request was sent, also for Sarah & Louis, to Gallatin County Clerk of District Court: “No records were found”. These two negative results, although disappointing, are constructive and important, in that it shows that Saran & Louis kept themselves out of sight of the law, and for some reason had no property in Gallatin County.
Additionally, because the 1950 Census, by USA Law, will not be publically available until April, 2022, we are not able to independently confirm two addresses coming from Sarah herself: The fact that Sarah had her, US Mail Address made up into a rubber-stamp device, meant that she considered the following two address to be ~ long term.
A) One of Sarah’s rubber-stamp-printed US Mail return address, at 616 South Grand Street. Bozeman Research Article, tells the history the Clark Apartments, constructed in 1914, at the above address, even showing an excellent photo: Dennis Gary, seeing this photo, as well as good Google Street Views, says he “does not remember this 616 S Grand Ave, Apartment as Sarah's.” The Clark apartments, are North East of MSU’s Montana Hall, requiring approximately 12 blocks to walk between. Putting together all know facts about Sarah’s living quarters, it is most logical that Sarah lived in the Clark, sometime during her first years in Bozeman, from 1923 up to 1932, when she moved with husband Louis to Billings. … Relevant to Sarah’s daily teaching commuting to MSU’s Montana Hall, Mr Gary remembers that “Back when I was going up to campus from the Phi Sig house on South Wilson, there was a regular motor bus going up South Grand to the campus.” Historical records mention a street car running on S. Grand, and show phots Bozeman’s Main Street in the early 1900's with electric trolleys on tracks.
