Continued fm Previous Photo => On R1 11, 12 Miles West of ZMM Book Town Of Ellendale ND, We See The ZMM Narrator’s “green prairie farmland, WITH The Probable Site Of Abandoned Prairie Homestead & Windmill.
EXPLANATION => There Is Only One Place in ZMM, Where Robert Pirsig Uses Word “Windmill” => " A second flash—WHAM and everything brilliant . . . and then in the brilliance of the next flash that farmhouse . . . that windmill . . . oh, my God, he’s been here! . . . throttle off . . . this is his road . . . a fence and trees . . . and the speed drops to seventy, then sixty, then fifty-five and I hold it there.."
The Above ZMM Passage Describes A Scene => At A ZMM “Empty Road" Location, Which Likely Would Be Some 60 Miles East of /\ Above /\ Shown GSV At Forbes, ND. BUT unfortunately, that stretch of Highway (for all 3 of his ZMM Research Trips), Henry Gurr could not find have any "Windmill + Farmhouse". So Henry took photo of every Windmill he saw, as discussed below.
….************** ….
~10:10 am Wed 14 Aug, Henry Gurr's Travel through Here: 96th Street NW (same as Rt 11), Forbes, ND.
….This /\ Above /\ Google Street View (Date 2013), looking Southwest, shows very well, the general scenery that Henry Gurr experienced, when he drove ZMM Route East, passing through here, and really a continuation of the previous Panorama’s Photo’s => “The Endless Prairie-Land of South Eastern, North Dakota”. ,
….************** ….
…. The /\ Above /\ GSV Shows The Probable Site Of Abandoned Prairie Homestead & Windmill, Previously Photographed During Henry Gurr's 2002 ZMM Route Research. This site is ~62 miles East of ZMM Book Town Of Hague ND, and ~12 miles West of ZMM Book Town of Ellendale, ND.
(ChangesSinceHSGTrip’02.)
…. When Henry Gurr Was At This Same Location Back In 2002, He Was Motivated To Take 8 Photos To Form A Panorama View Of =>An Abandoned Prairie Homestead & Windmill But As of The /\ Above /\ GSV, These Are No Longer Here.
….As Henry traveled The Route of Book ZMM (albeit in reverse direction), his goal was to find any major CHANGES, that had happened SINCE his original Summer 2002 ZMM Research Trip:
…Thus It Was That => As Henry traveled Rt 11, East from Hague, ND, he remembered to start looking for The Physical Photo Scene of his PERVIOUS … 2002 Panorama Photo Of => … The Abandoned Prairie Homestead & Windmill, Which You May See By => Click Here.
…. ALSO Click Here To See => Henry Gurr’2002 FULL PANORAMA Of This Location Of => “An Abandoned Prairie Homestead With Windmill”. .
….************** ….
… EXPLANATION => WHY MAKE SO MANY PANORAMAS THAT => You See In This & Other ZMMQ Gallery Albums? =>
….Henry Gurr’s Continuing Motivation (And Photo Location Choice), Comes Directly From This Passage From ZMM > Concerning “The Endless Prairie-Land of South Eastern, North Dakota” …Especially Please Note Last Narrator’s => The LAST 2 SENTENCES =>
"Later, when we stop, Sylvia has tears in her eyes from the wind, and she stretches out her arms and says, "It’s so beautiful. It’s so empty." .... John gets his camera out. .. After a while he says, "This is the hardest stuff in the world to photograph. You need a three-hundred-and-sixty degree lens, or something. You see it, and then you look down in the ground glass and it’s just nothing. As soon as you put a border on it, it’s gone." .. I say,."
….************** ….
…. But this Google Street View Is better, => Since It Offers a 360 deg Full Circle Panorama. AND offers you the ability to magnify, and explore better, Sylvia’s ”It’s so beautiful. It’s so empty. , all around, PLUS . You Can Even See The ”deep undulations”!!. Click Here.
