The Largest of the Town’s Trees, “Twenty Three Feet Around”, Is Struggling to Survive.

….“ …. and when we leave John says he’s happy to have met us and hopes we’re rested. “ (Cont.Next)

Business district, Dayville, OR. Mr. Ken Lang and Ms. Laurie Chapman said this crippled matriarch (about 100ft East of the previous photo) is what is left of the town’s largest tree.
….If you click on the photo, you can read the white sign “23 feet around”. If you divide by pi (3.1416) you get the average diameter of 7.3 feet!!
….Ms. Chapman was careful (and proud) to point out that although these looked like Cottonwood Trees, they actually were a vastly superior tree called “Carolina Poplar”. These Dayville trees, she said, do not put out the perpetual snow of cotton tufts, that pile up in messy drifts everywhere around them, as is the case for typical Cottonwood Trees.

….This Is A Fact That Is Confirmed In My ZMM Route, Personal Experiences Album, For Hague, ND.
