A Peek Out This Third Floor Fire Escape Door Reveals the Narrator’s Madison Mountain Range in the Distance To The Southwest.
…. “through which he looked out onto and across the valley onto the Madison Range and watched the storms come in " ….
…. “ He would sit by the radiator with a stub of chalk in one hand and stare out the window at the mountains, ….. This wasn’t one room, this was a thousand rooms, changing each day with the storms and snows and patterns of clouds on the mountains,"
Third Floor, Montana Hall, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT. The /\ Above /\ Photo shows one of the few places where The ZMM Enthusiast may see what the Narrator describes, especially if fair weather, when the door may be open to the Fire Escape Platform.
….NOTE: If you study maps Southwest of Bozeman, MT, you will see that the Madison River flows out of the Madison Range of mountains.

….A Repeat Of Discussion 3rd Photo Previous =>
….The Madison Range, and Spanish Peaks are indeed visible to the Southwest from Classroom Windows on South side of Montana Hall:
….Of course, what South View can be seen depends on which Classroom Window, what Building Level and depending on growth of trees, and how many leaves summer vs winter.

…. Due to Building Renovations ~1978, most of the building's rooms have been entirely changed. Thus it not easy to recognize where the Old Professor’s Offices or Classrooms may have been.
…So I was overjoyed when Terry Dysart, of the MSU Planning and Analysis Dept. emailed to say that she though it was so neat that her office in Montana Hall was Robert Pirsig’s old office!!! Contact Terry at 406-944-1649, or tdysart@montana.edu for more information.
