As I Photographed Down Into This Canyon, I Discovered This Circular "Pot Hole" Bored In the Rock.
Apparently, when the winter rains come, the surging high water can swirl rocks and sand around and around in this "Boiling Pot" with sufficient violence to carve this perfect cylinder. Several more of these same formations were visible higher up the canyon wall. My wife and I saw similar formations in South Africa. However in S. A. there were ten to twenty such formations all in one place, and all of them were much larger. It was a fantastic thing to see having a beauty all its own!
