Wednesday, July 24, 2024: … After Our Detour, We Finally Get To Where We Should Have Been => The Comptche-Ukiah Road.
… And Some 38 Minutes After The Previous 3 Photo Panorama, We Eventually Arrive At The “Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve”,
…Which Has Had In Recent Years, A Picnic Table Visible From The Road,
…As Is Seen (Look Closely Thru The Railing) At Both Ends Of The Above Panorama.
…Also Seen: A) The Picnic Table Is On A Wooden Deck About 5 Feet, Partly Over The Low Area Adjacent “South Fork Big River”.B) This Road Here Goes By The. South Fork Big River, And Then Crosses Over It.
The ZMM Narrator Says =>
…"What do you see?" I ask.
…"It’s all different."“
…“ We head into a grove again, and he says, "Don’t you get scared?"
…"No, you get used to it."
…I begin to feel drowsy and in a small ravine ahead I see a turnoff and a picnic table. When we get to it I cut the engine and stop.
…"I’m sleepy," I tell Chris. "I’m going to take a nap."
…"Me too," he says.”
…NOTE: This Is Practically The Only Location Along The Comptche-Ukiah Road, Where, in 1968, Author Robert Pirsig And Chris, Could Have Likely Seen & Stopped For A Rest, on "a picnic table”..
********************
As You See In The /\ABOVE/\ Photo, & WILL SEE NEXT Two Panorama Photos, How The “Picnic Table” Is On A Wooden Deck Built Partly Over The Adjacent “South Fork Big River”.
…This Is Accessible 300 Feet, From The Entrance Road Leading To The “Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve”
NOTE: Some 60 Feet From The Entrance To Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve, Is A Very Likely Place for The Narrator’s 1968 “A Picnic Table” And “Small Ravine.”
This location is =>
…1) ~34.4 Road Miles East of Mendocino, CA and.
…2) ~15.5 Road Miles West of Ukiah, CA.
