Part III: The Illustrated "Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" Chapters 16 thru 26.

Monday, July 22, 2024: … Looking South Into Busy, High Speed Traffic, On The Commercialized & Cluttered-Up US-97. Redmond, Oregon. .

..The ZMM Narrator Says =>
…. “They look just like the gasoline attendant, staring straight ahead in some private trance of their own. I haven’t seen that since . . . since Sylvia noticed it the first day. They all look like they’re in a funeral procession.

….As has been mentioned in previous ZMMQ Gallery Photos, the ZMM Narrator fails to mention places he doesn’t like, such as towns and tourist attractions.
….AND, as you can see in the above photo, there are plenty good reasons why the Narrator neglects to mention Redmond, Oregon.
…Similar reasons apply to the ZMM Narrator’s not mentioning the previously discussed town of Prineville, Oregon, which also had , bustling, high-speed traffic.

… However, despite similar dense, high speed traffic, Bend, Oregon is mentioned, because the Author Robert Pirsig wants us to know what they did there & what it was like. => “ we stop and have supper in a modern restaurant in which people also come and go without looking at each other. The service is excellent but impersonal..” .
