… On The Morning Of Their 2nd Day Of 1968 Travel, ZMM Narrator, Chris, John & Sylvia Sutherland Had Breakfast, In A Restaurant, Ground Floor Of The Nodak Hotel. This Is How The ZMM Narrator Tells The Story => “There it is! Ellendale! ….A water tower, groves of trees and buildings among them in the morning sunlight. I’ve just given in to the shivering which has been almost continuous the whole trip. The watch says seven-fifteen.” ….“A few minutes later we park by some old brick buildings. I turn to John and Sylvia who have pulled up behind us. ‘That was cold!’ I say. They just stare at me fish-eyed. [Once we are in the Nodak Hotel Restaurant.] ….They order breakfast without looking up. ” NOTE: Nodak is an abbreviation of words North Dakota, and this was on their huge outdoor Hotel Sign ….************** ….
{ChangesSinceHSGTrip’02.) ….Continuing On Rt 11, Henry Gurr Arrives in Center of Ellendale ND, Business District & Major Crossroad Intersection. ….Henry went directly to the Ellendale former site of ZMM Book some old brick buildings. = The Nodak Hotel, and took 8 ZMM Route Photos, for ~400 degree More Than Full Circle Panorama … which is seen /\ Above /\. ..1) At first you are looking West, along Ellendale’s Main St, As you scroll, you see just flat bare brown dirt, because (time marches on), the whole entire Nodak Hotel was recently ripped down with a big “Track-Hoe” ((Which is a larger than normal Tractor Mounted “Back-Hoe”, but mounted on steel “Tracks”, like a Caterpillar Tractor.)) Soon this site will have Commercial Bank construct here it. ..2) As you continue to scroll, you are looking North along Major N-S US 281. ..3) With continued scrolling you are looking East along Ellendale’s Main St, and will see get a good idea of what Ellendale’s Business District looks like. ..4) More scrolling and you are looking South along Major N-S US 281. The /\ ABOVE /\.Panorama shows the streets were being torn up for resurfacing, and thus look pretty rough. ..5) And finally you see again the SAME Opening View, looking West, along Ellendale’s Main St.
