Bill says Pirsig stayed at the Parkview, which was part hotel and part apartment rooms. It's now abandoned. However, it's across the block from Bill's Cycle Shop and across the street from the park, so it doesn't fit that Pirsig would have ridden his bike to the cycle shop, as he writes. Whatever the case, the shady stoop where my bike is parked here would have been an ideal place to adjust the valves.
