One of the first swichbacks on the Bear Tooth Highway

Description : I got off to an early start and the road was quiet at first. At one of my photo stops, a guy on a well-worn BMW with panniers passed me as I was re-entering the road. I made a silly attempt to keep pace with him but he quickly lost me. The polite rumble of his Beemer was soon swallowed up in the alpine emptiness. He looked like a courier who clearly knew this road. My guess was partly confirmed later in the day. As I was slowly navigating the Deadman Curves downbound from the summit into Cooke City he passed me again this time apparently returning to Red Lodge.
