….It is a fact that => The Absaroka Range, including The Tectonics “Up-Lift” of Yellowstone National Park (at left of this view), is so massive, and with the 100 mile North Trending Bigbelt Mountains, extends so long and so complete: => That these force the YNP’s Yellowstone River to go East, nearly all the way to Montana’s Eastern Border, Where it joins the Missouri River. => ((You should remember seeing photos (and Panoramas) of this river previous photo, several at beginning of this album,))
….AND This Range Of Bigbelt Mountains, forces the headwaters of the Missouri Rivet (including Gallatin River from YNP), to stay West of this range ahead, as it flows North, to within ~70 miles of Canadian Border, before then can flow East, and just before Montana’s Eastern Border, join the abovementioned Yellowstone River, eventually join the Mississippi River!

A Hike In Cottonwood Canyon NF Trail, Gallatin National Forest, South Of Bozeman MT.

“Chris and I have had a good night’s sleep and this morning have packed the backpacks carefully, and now have been going up the mountainside for about an hour. The forest here at the bottom of the canyon is mostly pine, with a few aspen and broad-leafed shrubs. Steep canyon walls rise way above us on both sides. Occasionally the trail opens into a patch of sunlight and grass that edges the canyon stream, but soon it reenters the deep shade of the pines. The earth of the trail is covered with a soft springy duff of pine needles. It is very quiet here. ”

Pete cast this larger [abstract0 sculpture of my mother’s because he was a friend who had a foundry at his studio in Oakland. He did do a lot of bronze sculpture, but these are not his work. … The larger abstract one (I call Demeter) is my mother, Gennie DeWeese's sculpture.
