View On A Climb Down To The Gardiner River.
….The Buildings Low in the Yellowstone River Valley Ahead, Are Gardiner.

…. “We exit from [Yellowstone National Park] the park at Gardiner, …. “

Approach to Gardiner, MT. Here I decide to climb down to and photograph the Gardiner River. I did this probably I had missed doing so for Rock Creek back at Red Lodge.
….As shown on my Rand-McNally, US-89 leaves YNP & Wyoming, going ~North along th to Gardner, MT, were both road & river. meet the Yellowstone River.
..A) The Yellowstone River, has its origin in Lake Yellowstone & Caldera, as discussed in a previous photo.
..B) The Gardiner River, originates in Northwestern YNP, and probably includes water from the Mammoth Hot Springs.
….The road down from YNP, was very twisty, and the steepest I have yet encountered! Apparently this is very, very, old military horse & wagon road, which was used to establish the original Fort Yellowstone. Since the fort was originally only for military patrol, of what was then a very remote inaccessible area, road costs were kept down by making it steep! You must have good brakes!
..****************..
….On my way through YNP, I found many Interesting Flowers & Plants. Another demonstration of the discoveries, when you get out of your car !
….For The ZMM Route =< My Series of Flower & RedWing Blackbirds, here shows Flowers In ZMM Narrator’s High Country. AFTER this page comes up, CLICK UPPER RIGHT >> To Go To Next Photo. Continue until you see Rushing White Water In Background. This is where starts, my Flower Photos in YNP

There used to be a 2-bedroom beach house on the beach [prior to being taken over for a public beach and park].
